My 2 favourite things right this instant..

The new line, Breaking Free, from My Mind's Eye is absolutely amazing. I went to TSF (Two Scrapbook Friends) this morning and bought lots of these papers and embellishments. There's surfboards, ice cream cones, hibiscus flowers, stripes and all the papers are double-sided. I had a very difficult time choosing which ones as all of them were begging to come home with me. I can't wait for summer to get here so I can snap some pics just to use these papers!!




Oh sweet, cool, caffeinated goodness, how I love thee.

I am not a HUGE coffee drinker. I am good with a couple

of cups a week. Well I just had to try the iced coffee from Timmie's and now, well, let's just say I'm in love.

After the rain..

After picking Wyatt up from school today and hearing all the grumbling about the rain (myself included!) I came home to an explosion in my garden. Everything was so lush and full. I was in awe and of course had to take some photos. My trash-to-treasure bicycle is almost completely covered in the jungle of leaves. I love how amazing plants look after a good downpour as if someone hit 'saturation' in a photo editor.

Decision made

I finally made a decision albeit not a very exciting one. After putting the layout on every shade of purple, green and brown I could find in my stash I went with WHITE! I roughed up the edges and inked them with purple and brown so it didn't feel quite as stark. Thank you to Karan Gerber for providing the sketch for this layout.

The dragon fly was plain chipboard and I cut out paper to put under the outline of the wings. I then inked, stickled and glossy accented the body. I also added silver wire antennae. Yes, I do have too much time on my hands!!

I'm stuck!

I've been working on a layout from a sketch and I am really having a hard time with choosing a background colour. I have the entire layout together and can't seem to make up my mind on a colour to stick it all to. I keep switching it around and just when I think 'yes, that's the one' I can't commit. This has never been an issue before and I can't figure out why it is this time. Weird.

I know, it truly is a hardship to make such an all important decision..lol

I'll post the layout when it's finished, should I ever be able to make the choice.

music?

I've been fiddling with this here blog trying to figure things out. I decided to add some music but what music to add?? I've never been a very intense music fan. I definitely have a reaction when I hear a song that I like but I do not own an Ipod full of 10 000 songs, in fact I don't own an Ipod at all. So when trying to pick some songs I struggled to think of a few songs that do indeed illicit some sort of emotional response from me.
Broken Hallelujah is one of my favourites of all time particularly this rendition by Kurt Nilsen (et al),winner of an Idol competition in Europe.
The others are songs that I love for one reason or another and hope you enjoy listening to them as well.

The beginning of a blog...

I'm sitting here with a helicopter sticker in the middle of my forehead (lovingly placed by my 4 year old) wondering what I might impart on this, my very first post. I suppose I'll say that I'm impressed I managed to get to this point as my computer skills are um...developing? I tend to take the long way when it comes to figuring out this machine but I generally get where I need to go.

I'm not too sure what will spill out onto the keyboard in the future but I can pretty much guarantee it will involve the non-stop antics of my silly boys and scrapbooking of course!
