Welcome to the Songs of Christmas Blog Hop with Two Scrapbook Friends! You should have arrived here from the Two Scrapbook Friends blog.
Our Blog Hop is all about the Songs of Christmas and the inspiration for my project comes from the song "Joy to the World"
Of course we all find joy in scrapbooking so it wasn't much of a stretch to use this as my song! I will let you all know that I rarely scrapbook Christmas photos. I find that all my photos look chaotic, have awful lighting and are usually pretty terrible. When TSF received the 'Countdown to Christmas' collection from Bazzill I was, however, inspired to root through the few photos I have to make it work. I was actually so inspired that I created not one but TWO layouts using this line.
For my first layout I cut the word 'joy' out of the background and backed it with some green cardstock which made an easy title. I went for whimsy by looping some floss around the photo and added numbers punched from another sheet. It's a fairly simple layout to showcase my boys, who are indeed my 'JOY'
For my second layout I used some embossed cardstock as my backgroud. It's hard to tell but it has little, raised dots all over. I added stitching, sequins and handcut stars to complete this layout. The journaling tells the story of how Holden wanted to bring treats to his class.
In a sense, bringing 'JOY' to others.
I hope you will be inspired by my creations and those of our other fabulous bloggers:

Love them, Shelby!! I think you may have convinced me to get some sequins!
Gorgeous photos. Priceless. Love all the bright colors.
I agree that scrapping Christmas photos is terribly difficult. But you aced it - I especially like the 2nd layout - what a sweet heart your boy has.
Amazing layouts, Shelby! I especially love the second one. Such a wonderful design! And that paper line rocks.
I love it Shelby!! I really liked how you looped the balls around your photo of your "joy". :)
Stunning! I am in love with your banner and loopy twine. I was excited to see that black text piece on your second design. IT really pops his little eyelashes! Beautiful festive design my friend!
Gorgeous JOY paper on the first background - red is my fave colour :+) Beautiful layouts - thanks for sharing.
I love both of these layouts! Having seen them in person, the photos really don't do them justice. They are gorgeous with lots of fabulous details!

Shelby both of your layouts are gorgeous. I love the added dimension with the circles punched out and flossed together on the first layout. The second page is cute. The stars and sequins are great touches.I am inspired.
Gorgeous!
very inspiring for me to get my pix in fro xmas :)
Fabulous pages Shelby......as a non-Christmas scrapper myself, I bow to you for digging out those photo's! Great job.
Brought joy to my day too :). Beautiful layouts!
Joy ...Love both of them Shelby...great job as usual.
(I agree about Christmas photos..mine are horrible , big wads of wrapping paper, bedhead hair and no one wants to pose after they are dressed and cleaned up)
Your layouts made me feel very JOYFUL that I have the means to buy scrapbook goodies and a wonderful family to scrapbook about!!!! Love the layouts. If anyone can teach me how to take better Christmas photos, I'm in!!!!!!!
Both layouts are FAB! Love the idea of changing the JOY colour background to show the emotion on your layout during the special holiday Christmas! Your second layout is stunning, I just love the design, the colours you used! Merry Christmas SHELBY!
Beautiful layouts.
Really like how you highlighted the word Joy!
I love your layouts, but the baking one is definitely my favourite. I always take way too many Christmas photos and try to scrap them all - it's very inspiring to see what you did with only one or two photos. Love your style!
Love them Shelby...used that line for Austin's advent calendar..it's great
Great post! Thanks for sharing!

Love the floss idea with the punched out numbers.....very cute and festive!
Beautiful layouts. Now I'm inspired to get scrapping last Christmas. Thanks
Great layout Shelby! Love the stars on the second layout especially!
Great job Shelby, beautiful layouts. I agree Christmas photos are hard to scrapbook. I am inspired to take some scrappable pics this Christmas.
Awesome layouts and the subjects are pretty cute too!
Two great layouts Shelby. I always struggle wondering if I should use full sheets as by background or paper pieces...you inspired me to think differently as to doing my layouts.
Shelby, your layouts are always so inspiring! Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family!
